Pre-paid funeral plan provider, Rest Assured Funeral Plans, have partnered with the NHS in a pilot scheme to increase membership of the Organ Donor Register.
Customers of Rest Assured have the opportunity to add their names to the NHS Blood and Transplant Organ Donor Register whilst setting up their prepaid funeral plans.
This will be discussed at face to face appointments, and customers will be given information in their welcome packs to enable them to consider the decision further if required.
It is hoped that people who are already having frank conversations about death will be open to discussing what should happen to their bodies when they die. This is a great opportunity for people to actively add their names to the register and, crucially, to discuss their decision with their loved ones – who may be encouraged to do the same.
